Thanksgiving break.
I just had a heart to heart with my sister. My sister is one of my best friends - her life hasn't gone in the direction she has wanted, and she has a hard time accepting that.
Talking to her has made me realize how much I have changed within these two years of school. I have really grown up a whole lot. Here I was, consoling my sister on how to taking control of her life, when she's 2 years older than me and has a child. I was always the one who went to her to ask her for help, and now I'm the one giving her advice. It's such a strange feeling, but it's nice to know that we can come to each other.
So being the corny brother I am, I told her that her and I will make "Goal Charts" on Thanksgiving. It will have our main goal on the top, and a list of things we need to do in order to achieve it. And on the bottom of the poster will have the date we want to complete it. I'm really only doing it for her, but it'll be good for me to do it also. We're going to make a whole craft thing out of it so I'm super excited. I just want my whole family to go in a different direction now that my Grandparents aren't holding us together. I feel like it's up to me to really make any kind of effort at doing things like this.
My best friend comes home from her college tomorrow, and I haven't seen her since August so I'm pretty fucking excited. First I have to go to my High School to do observation hours for my Principles of Music Education class (it requires 5), then her and I will hang out.
But an old friend has come back into the picture - my exboyfriend Ron. He and I have a pretty complex past, and haven't really been the closest in the past years, but we're making an effort to catch up over this break. I don't know what's going to come from it - it'd be foolish of me to think that anything would really come from it, and it wouldn't make sense for anything to come from it anyway. But I guess we'll see.
I'm also going to catch up with a good friend whom I haven't seen since Thanksgiving last year. It'll be nice to catch up with her and see how she's doing as she's a music major too.
